Jim Howard

It is an honor to be nominated to serve in this position for you, the members of the PES. With my past experience on the Governing Board of the PES as Vice-President Membership and Chapters (1997-1998), along with the experience gained by serving on the IEEE Board of Directors as Region 3 Director (2002-2003), I am looking forward to the opportunity to again represent you, the Members of the PES, as your Division VII Director.

As a Region Director, I encouraged and worked with the Chapters in the Region to enhance the relationship between the Sections and Chapters. As your Division VII Director, I will continue to work on this endeavor and to further this relationship throughout the world. Another area that I am looking forward to continuing to work on will be Membership. Membership in our Society has, like most other Societies, been on the downswing and I believe, together we can turn this around and show the Members the multitude of benefits of belonging to our Society and to the IEEE.
